Before We Start Building a Website

Every Business Needs a Website

When creating a personal website for a professional service, non-profit organization, and company website, you will always need content. The more you can have ready, the quicker the process will be to launch your site to the public and start working on different SEO practices to improve your overall ranking in the standard search engines (Google, Yahoo, & Bing).

The Basics

First of all, the basics of building a website:

  • What’s the name of the company
  • Do you have a logo? or will you need one designed
  • What is it that you are selling, offering, and your product?
  • What will be the website’s primary goal, and why are you building one?
  • Where are you located?
  • Do you already have a website that you’d like to re-design?
  • Have you already purchased material, such as the URL (Domain) and hosting?

Providing this information will help us understand your future website plan and allow us to map out a design. We require a 50% deposit before building a website. Over the years, we’ve tried different methods, but they do not work; we need to ensure you are moving forward with this project, and we have costs to initiate the design, and we must cover our hard work and time. REY Design will first set up a meeting with you to go over your information, needs, & wants in detail to better understand and create a proper quote. From there, the fun begins.!

Content (Text)

Remember, websites need content (text); the more you have, the better. So if you are offering a service, or selling a product, the more text you can provide about the given topic, the better. Plus! The more you have ready for us, the quicker we can create your website and hand you the finished product. Also, remember that all text must be organic, so do not go to websites and copy and paste.

Professional Images

Second, content is images. To create a design that fits your needs, we will need photos to work with, pictures of the product, area, service, etc. Also, they need to be quality and large images (don’t worry about optimizing or cropping them, we take care of that for better website optimization and page speed). Also, we ask for organic photos, meaning photos that are true to you and your service, photos that you might have taken or a professional took for your company; stealing images from google is never recommended, and if you are looking for images, you can also look for stock images that are free to use (some are paid). If you are in Jaco or Costa Rica, we can provide our services with Pacific Photography CR to gather the needed content!

Business Information

Next, contact information. Where would you like your potential clients to contact you? Do you have a phone number for the website/company? How about an email address? Today popular contact forms are also via WhatsApp, and we can connect your website directly to your WhatsApp number! Multiple forms of contact are essential as if a client has a question or wants to talk over the phone or arrange a meeting, which can lead to a potential sale!

Finally, social media, if you’re not already using it, your business should, as today, 90% of the usage of the internet is actually on social media. That said, connecting to multiple such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc., will help your service and get more clients to your website and see the latest posts on social media. We link all your accounts to your website for easy access for clients and their preferred social media outlets.

To summarize, the more information you can provide, the better we can minimize the time needed to research, write organic text, and take photos, all equalling a quicker turnover for your website.
